Side Effects of Bisoprolol

I have been diagnosed with a benign heart arrymthia, atrial tachycardia, and I also get pvc's. The symtoms these days are few and far between, but I am still taking 1.25g of bisoprolol. I also take 40mg statin and one 75mg asprin a day, because my HDL chol was .75, and my total 4.9. I have read that you should be cautious about taking bisoprolol if you have asthma. To my knowledge I haven't got it (peak flow around 500 mark with a virus. I am 5ft 9ins and 59 years of age), but I have picked up 6 or 7 viruses in the last couple of years, which have affected my thoiat usually, but the last one has hit my chest. These viruses usually take a couple of months to shake off, and this last one has left me with a tight chesty cough and wheeziness. I  stopped taking the bisprolol the last couple of days, and the wheeziness has subsided. To be honest I'd rather have the palpatations than we stuck with a virus for two months.

Do you think that the bisoprolol could be causing the wheeziness, and inhibiting my recovery from these viruses?
