Sinus Tachycardia

I am a 27 yr old male with a long family history of heart disease.  Currently I am on 20mg of Zestril once daily.  I have had two different heart monitors put on.  One was questionable for atrial flutter and the other showed lots of sinus tach.  I also had an echo which was normal other than a slightly enlarged left atrium (22-25cm).  My stress test showed early R wave progression and some abnormal ST segments (whatever that means).  Currently, i am experiencing bouts of slow heart rates and then fast heart rates.  My cardiologist says I am too young for heart disease.  I am overweight and smoke about 1 pack a day.  Should I push for an EP study or a cath?  Should i be concerned?

Also, sometimes at night when lying down my heart "thumps" or "jumps" for several minutes and I start to cough.  Laying on my left side worsens it.  By the way, all i have to do is walk up a few stairs and my heart rate is 170-200bpm.  Resting it is around 100-115bpm.  I was on atenolol but it made my tired.  could this be a-fib or a-flutter?

My heart rate goes up to around 170bpm.  I get light headed and weak.  My cardiologist feels that an EP study or cath is to invasive at my age

How high and low is your heart rate going? Are you having any symptoms with the heart rate changes?
