Skipped beats

Skipped beats

Hi, 2 years ago I was diagnosed with ectopic beats with bigeminy, it feels like a skipped beat then a thud, it started during the pregnancy of my 5 child and then went away for a while, then came back a few months after having her, I was also diagnosed with post natal depression, although I think I am well over the post natal depression I still have these skipped beats, very frequently I would say at least 3 a minute, seems to be more often in time of hormonal changes such as ovulation or menstuating, I have no other symptoms no chest pain, dizziness or shortness of breath, I am very active and do plenty of exercise, I am 43, have had a holter monitor and echo, to confirm what the beats are, just thought I would get others opinions, thanks Karen

It sounds like you have been given a good medical check-up and nothing serious was found.  So, take comfort in that result.

When you were diagnosed with bigeminy was anything prescribed, or any verbal advice given?

It is worth keeping an open mind and listen to your heart without thinking it into acting up.  If the condition gets worse it would be a good idea to go for a follow up on your past heart doctor.
