Skipped heart beat? Pause? Please help

Hello, i have had palpitations for awhile now and usually know what they feel like but not too sure about this one. I was laying in bed trying to fall asleep and noticed i could feel my heartbeat, it was normal, there was a pause the length of a normal beat and then it started again normally, no hard thud or anything, just like nothing happened. I thought maybe it could be slowing down from exhaling but couldn't get it to skip for a whole perfectly timed beat again. Does anyone else experience this? Is it something i should get checked out? There were no other symptoms and if i wasnt paying attention i wouldn't even had known it happened. Was it a pac? Sinus pause? Please help!

Just one on its own like that could be an ectopic, ie a pvc or a pac, there isn't always a thud afterwards.  How many seconds would you say the pause lasted for?  It doesn't sound worrisome to me if it was for around a second, very fleeting, but I'm not an expert, I'm only going by what I've learned from reading.  Without having these things recorded on an ecg no one can say for sure what it is, but from your description it doesn't sound alarming.  It's always best to check with a doctor of course.
