Skipped heart beats

by CJ080561, Sep 02, 2009 02:17PM
I am a 48 year old female. I have had the "skipped heart beats" since I was 19. The doctors caught them for the first time when I was around 21, on some type of monitor. I do not remember exactly what test was done. Anyway, I was told that my heart was probably just as healthy or healthier than anyones, and that I was just unlucky to be able to feel these PVC's. They have come and gone through the years. Mostly acting up when I was getting sick, had too much caffeine or drank alcohol. About a year ago I went through a 6 to 8 week spell of having these PVC's 24 hours a day very consistenly. I decided to go back in to a cardiologist to see if anything had changed. I wore a Holter monitor for 24 hours, and they did an echo. They found absolutely nothing. I have always been a consistent excerciser, but I go back and forth on eating right, which in turn means I gain and lose weight back and forth. I recently lost about 36 lbs. and am doing my treadmill for 40 min. every morning, and then 5 days a week I do about 40 min of weight training and rowing machine. I am eating very healthy now. Lot's of fruits, veg. lean meats and whole grains. I have never smoked and drink very rarely. I recently started on a Thyroid med and bio identical hormone therapy. I have been and am still going throught my heart skipping beat all of the time for a good six weeks. Sometimes it seems like it gets better while I am excercising and other times it seems worse. It does it while I sit or stand too. My resting pulse is about 52 and my blood pressure averages around 115 over 70. I feel good other than these PVC's that are driving me crazy. Why are they acting up suddenly, and for such a long period of time now. I try not to be concerned, but they are very annoying.
