Slow heart, feeling awful

Hi, Can anyone advise,
I am a 30yr Female, I have Dilated cardiomyopathy caused by a virus over 21/2 yrs ago, I also have Non-sustained VT for the past 6 months. Recently I have had episodes of feeling unwell, short of breath, tight chest, weak etc. On listening to my heart rythm my Husband has said that my heart slows considerably at the time I feel the symptoms.
Having been in & out of hospital so much lately, I was hoping to get some advice without having to go back!?
Should I be concerned?
Should I alert my cardio?
Any advice or info would be very welcome.
Many Thanks
Tara

I agree with everything that Brooke wrote above, and so will simply say "ditto".  It sounds as though you and I are in a very similar boat. I will read with interest what your GP says about your symptoms. I also have to agree with you that it is great to be able to vent to someone who understands where you might be coming from, and who might be able to share some of those frustrations.

Out of curiosity, and a bit off topic to your original post... have you noticed any link with your symptoms and the weather? I have noticed that my chest feels considerably "heavier" and my breathing a little more laboured on days when there is a lot of cloud cover, especially if it has been for consecutive days... maybe it is atmospheric pressure affecting our heart?

Thank you so much for your kind words,
It is so nice to be able to vent and to have someone on the other end who actually understands where i'm coming from.
Think I will take a trip to the G.P tomorrow as I havbe had an awful day & have decided that I should check it out!
Thanks again

I know that you said that you've been in and out of the hospital and would rather not return...this I can completely relate to. With the onset of new symptoms and your  history of DCM, my best advice would be to make a call to your cardiologist.

Having just read your journal entry I can hear you loud and clear to how frustrated you have become. I wish that I had the magic wand for you and knew just what to say. I can only say that I know exactly what it feels like to feel like a guinea pig. I know how it feels to be on a never ending rollar coater ride...I know how it feels to be in the hands of many different Dr's and wonder if they bothered to pick up your chart to read your history. I know that Dr's are not perfect which is why they call it "practicing medicine"

I really hope that you find some relief from this and that your Dr finds a resolution to this.

I'm here if you need to vent:)

Hi, I take 7.5mg Bisoprolol & 8mg Candesartan daily.
Generally my bpm is around 55-60 although as I said my husband said it slowed considerably, although he did not time it.
No, i'm not coughing as far as i'm aware I don't have CHF & I don't have an ICD
???

Tara...

Sorry to hear you're not feeling too well. What medications are you currently taking. In regard to your "slow heart" what are the actual bpm?

Short of breath, chest tightness...are you coughing? Do you have trouble breathing when you are lying down? Have you ever had CHF?

Lastly, do you have an ICD?
