Some help!?

Hey okay so I'm 24 female and I get heart palpitations usuAlly out of no where I dont get chest pain. But when I get them it so scary! What could be causing it? I do have anxiety and was taking medication for but it's undercontrol. So what could be causing them? Could I have a heart problem? Any advise would help!

No one can say for certain what you exactly have until it is captured on an ekg.  How often do you get the palpitations?  Do they start all of a sudden for no reason and stop just as suddenly?  How high does your heart rate go?  Does the fast beat feel different then a normal fast beat that happens when you run for a while?  Do you get dizzy and light headed with the palpitations?  If these symptoms occur you could have a simple svt, Supra Ventricular Tachycardia.  Basically that means there is a malfunction in the electrical signal of your heart that can cause the signal to get stuck in a loop and subsequently causes the heart to race.  There are a few different types but rest assured most of them are not life threatening.  If you only get them once in a while you may not even need to do anything about them.  But they can be disruptive when they occur.  I'd say after answering the question I laid out go to your GP with your concerns.  They may very well send you to a cardiologist for a check up.  If your heart is sound the svt will be of no consequence to you.  However if it is disrupting your life you may be able to have an ablation that could very likely correct the problem for good but you need to get properly diagnosed first.  Good luck and let us know how it is going.
