Somebody Please!!

Hello,
I wore a holter for 11 hours(was supposed to be 24 but long story). Anyway my results came back that I had isolated apc's and rare pvc's. As luck would have it I complained until I got the monitor and the day I wear it I didnt feel any palpitations!! I was told that I have hypertensive cardiomyopathy, so i was wondering: Am I at risk for sudden cardiac death? During one ER visit I had 1 R on T wave happen, Does this add to my risk? Just worried, if anybody has expertise in this area please assist me. Thank You.

PAC and PVC activity is fairly common, suffered by many of us.  From what I've read, they are mostly benign, and I would assume that is your case given you have had medical attention.  But, to be sure it sounds like you need a longer time period of monitoring... don't know from what you said why you stopped at the 11 hour point - so would that monitor had caught rhythm activity if it had been worn for the full period?  If so, maybe all you need is a retake.

You comment about "1 R or T wave happened" isn't helpful.  I'd have to go back to a definition of what the EKG trace elements are called, but I think R and T waves are repetitive, and there is a P wave too that those of us with Atrial Fibrillation don't have, or it is not complete.

Hope you get more inputs
