Sometimes I Wish....

That this site also included a live discussion. For nights like this where I am totally frustrated and would love to be able to talk to someone who has or is going through what I am right now. I hate when I get PVCs around bedtime. As tired as I am, I can not sleep. There is no way that I can relax enough to fall asleep. So here I sit at the computer writing this post and hoping that the PVCs will run their course and I can go to sleep. Wish me luck!

goingcrazy1029, MedHelp's as real-time as Facebook (or any chat room, for that matter).  The inconvenience for all of them is that you can only talk with other members if they're awake and online :)

If you'd like to have more control over the discussion and who participates, you might want to think about creating a user group.  These groups are  moderated by the owner and/or whomever he/she designates, and can be made private, public, or inviation-only.  You can find out more here:

I've been taking low-dose clonazepam at bedtime for years, even before I had PVCs. When I started taking it (for anxiety, with a stressful job) they didn't know that if I took it every day I could become addicted.  Now they say if you take it for two or three nights at a time, then don't use it for awhile, you won't become addicted.  You could check with your doctor.

I've tapered my dose down to less than 1/2 of the .5 mg tablet at bedtime. That's enough to help me sleep.  When I try to lower the dose beyond that, I get withdrawal effects. I was going to try to get off them completely, but my doctor said just to stay on the small dose because if I quit entirely I'll most likely still have anxiety. And that's probably true. Right now I sleep well (only have problems with PVCs during the day). So, I'm just going to stay on the clonazepam.  Yes, I have to take it each night, but it helps.

Check with your doctor first, but maybe if you started with a small dose and used it only for a day or two now and then, it could help you. Everyone is different, but it has really helped me.

Can you get a sleep aid?  Something to help you relax and be able to sleep? My Cardiologist said it was ok to take Clonazepam (sp?) a benzodiazapine (sp?) to help relax and sleep.  Of course I wouldn't use it all of the time....but once in a while?
