Sotalol to dronederone

What is the proper way to stop sotalol and start dronederone (Malpaq)

Sorry to give such a non-answer, but:  ask your doctor.  I believe there is no "one way", it all depends on you and your condition and history, as should be known by your doctor.

I switched from Sotalol to Multaq back in September and was concerned at the time about weaning off the Sotalol. I posted a thread back then asking the same question. My doctor told me to just stop the Sotalol and start the Multaq the next day without missing a dose time. Both drugs were taken twice daily so I took my last Sotalol at dinner and my first Multaq the next morning. I had a few days of jittery nerves and anxiety as the beta blockade came down but that was all.

That said, consult your doctor to be sure.

Thanks - just looking for opinions - my EP has told me to stop Sotalol for three days then start Mulpaq - two concerns the abrupt stop Vs weaning Sotalol and feel confident that I will surly be in Afib after a day or so without any meds - I already have some break thru hence the need to try something different (Mulpaq)
