Stress can make a variety of arrhythmias worse -- it is because your adrenalin goes through the rough.  See your family doctor to consider a Holter monitor to help diagnose the arrhythmia.  More importantly, use it as an opportunity to discuss the abuse issues.  If your spouse does not let you go to the doctor alone, this is just another indication that you are being controlled.

Atrial fibrillation is not normal, but can be treated.  Do you have a history of Afib?  Are you sure that's what you are feeling?  

I'm sorry about what you're going through.  Make an appointment with your family doctor to discuss what's going on.

Irregular heart beats can be worsened by stress.  However, it is best to have any new or changing symptoms checked out.
