Tachycardia and PVC's at the same time?

by lilbopper, Nov 09, 2008 02:08PM
I have had PVC and tachycardia issues for 6 years now.  I have had several echos and ekgs/monitors.  The past 2 nights when I layed down to sleep my heart started skipping like crazy but then it would break into tachycardia then skip several times in a row, then race again...anyway this went on for about 20 min then it settled down some.

Anyone else get both at the same time like I did?  I guess maybe the pvc's trigger the tachycardia? or it seemed that my heart rate was trying to shoop up w/the tachycardia but the PVC's were trying to slow it down. Weird feeling when you feel your heart rate at like 160 then after the pvc's it feels like maybe 60, then back up to 160 within a beats time...Anyone like me??? Scary stuff. BTW I am on a beta blocker (secral) but doesnt seem to be helping much anymroe.

I get that on rare occasions. I've never caught it on a monitor but I would guess it is just bursts of tachy. I call mine "wacky tachy." You're right though - it's very uncomfortable.
