Taurine for PVC's

I have been having PVC's off and on for the last 3 years. I recently heard that Taurine may help. Does anyone have any information about this?

Thanks to everyone who answered. These seem to come and go. Although I do seem to get them more in times of stress, even when I don't realise it. My doc has me on a very small dose of Prozac, too. The thing is, I think I am stressed because I get PVC's, not that I get them from being stressed. I know I need to not let them bother me, I have had all kinds of tests and have no heart issues.

i take about 6000 mgs of taurine every day.   there has NEVER been a reported overdose from this amino acid.  i have 1-2 degree av block.  its has helped me immensely.  my cardiologist has no problem with it at all.. you should speak to yours about it..  there are MANY studies that show it does help many cardiac disturbances.  i wish you the best!!

I don't take it but there is another forum where people who have a-fib use taurine and other "vitamins" to help control their a-fib.

Hello...

Taurine is a nonessential amino acid, which means that it is manufactured from other amino acids in the liver; it does not have to be obtained directly through the diet.

Taurine is also necessary for the management of potassium levels in tissues such as the heart.

L-taurine is another name for this supplement. As with any over the counter medication or supplements, you should discuss this with your Dr regarding how much Taurine you should take. If you decide to take this without speaking to your Dr, you should not take more than the recommended amount displayed on the bottle. Typical dosage ranges  from 200 to 2,000 mg per day in divided doses.

Hope this helps:)
