Thyroid related PVC's?

by DaneMom, Nov 05, 2009 08:50AM
I have been having PVC's since July.  I am currently on Toprol XL, 25mg in the morning and 50mg in the evening and they haven't stopped only softened in their effect ( I still feel them just not as hard a pounding sensation).  I found out from extensive testing that I have Hashimoto's thyroiditis which has formed nodules on the left side of my thyroid gland.  My question...that no one seems to be able to answer is- are the PVC's related to the thyroid condition as I am aware of how intricate the endocrine system is and that the thyroid hormones control many other functions.
I am scheduled for surgery to remove these nodules (1 is suspicious for malignancy) and hope that the pressure and rhythm problems will be cleared up then!  Any ideas or info is greatly appreciated and welcomed...

I don't know the answer but offer this "bump up" in the list by saying I believe from some past posts that thyroid problems can cause PVCs.

Perhaps someone who knows for sure can give some details.

Hi! Sorry to hear about your PVC"S. I am middle aged, never had any health issues til I had nodules on thyroid. Had thyroid lobectomy ( all benign). Soon after starting having tachycardia, PVC"S , ect. Was eventually diagnosed with PSVT,

I finally found a endocrinologist who said she has some patients with heart palps, tachycardia and are hypothyroid ( such as me). Yes, you are SO correct in that the thyroid/endocrine system is invovled in every body system/function. The more you research the more amazed at how are bodies are so intricately made.

I am on atenolol and synthyroid. It has gotten somewhat better.
(I tried toprol XL and had bad headaches).
I don't know your age, but hormone testing and starting bioidentical hormone replacement has helped me alot.
Good luck to you and your surgery. You will feel relief just knowing the "suspicious" nodules are gone.- at least I did.
Let us know how it goes please!!
