Tightness in chest and tightness in air way

Hi, I posted a question about a week back about a problem I had with a rapid heart beat and some chest pain.
This post may be long, but I ask that you bear with me because any help I can get will be a relief to understand what my problem is now.

I'm a 17 year-old athletic male. I am at a healthy weight and height an I do not smoke. I do live a sort of stressful life during the week with often very large amounts of school and home work.

Almost a week ago:
I was having these random heart palpations, where my heart randomly begins to beat at a high rate for a period of around 15 seconds and slowly begins to slow down, but took a very long time to get to normal (as in hours). This was happening two weeks prior to the day as well. I ended up going to the emergency room to diagnose any problems asap. And on the day I went to the hospital I was having chest pain as well, (from what I assume) from rapidly doing bench press and hitting my chest (when the bar came down) with some force each time (I usually don't do this)... They ran a blood test, blood pressure test, heart rate test and took an x-ray of my chest. The doctor found nothing wrong with me at all from what he said and that the high heart rate was because of the stress of my daily life and also the contributor as well was the possible bruised cartilage in my chest.

Almost a week later:
I am feeling new symptoms as well.

I haven't had many serious palpations since the visit to the emergency room and the chest pain has gone down a good amount.

But here are the new symptoms I am having. Here is a list I made of everything I feel.

-Hard to swallow
-Tightness in airway making it harder to breath (I can feel the tightness)
-Face feels a little numb around cheeks
-Slight chest pain on right side
-Higher heart rate
-often dizzy
-Ears feel like they are about to pop
-headaches usually on the sides and back of my head

-some random positions (usually on the back) help relieve the tightness and seem to be releasing and draining a air, gas, or a liquid from the areas and making me feel normal again.
-burping helps

I am thankful for any help and support I can get on this matter.

I am sorry that you aren't feeling well. Sounds like you have alot of symptoms. Did the ER doc suggest a followup appt with you primary care Dr? Given your age, you're probably still seeing a pediatrician and would need your parents to accompany you to an appt.

The symptoms you mention below, are usually seen with sinus infection. You can have an increased heart rate any time the body is fighting bacterial infections.

Slight chest pain on right side...this could be refered pain from gas. Sometimes when you have a pocket of gas it can be trapped anywhere and send pain to the shoulder, chest, ribs etc. Often times making positional changes can relieve symptoms.

I think it is best for you to talk to your parents and tell them you would like to see your Dr. If in fact it is an infection, the sooner you start treatment the better you will feel. Just remember to drink lots of liquids and stay away from dairy as this will thicken any secretions and will make symptoms worse.


This by no means is a diagnosis, just thought of possibilities.
