Tiredness and exhaustion

My Sister (64 years old) got her defibrillator implanted about a month ago.  Since that time she has complained of being extremely tired and fatigued.  She said after nearly 12 hours of sleep she wakes and is still groggy and often wants to go back to sleep.  Is this a common side effect of the devvice?

I don't think it is typical for your sister to experience such extreme fatigue.  Does she also have a pacemaker?  She should let her doctor know that she is feeling very tired, even after a full night's sleep.  Let us know how she is doing.

Thank you so much for responding!  It definitely makes me feel better to know I'm not alone in this.  Everyone I know doesn't have a clue as to what I'm talking about.  I don't have high blood pressue or any other problems.  I just hate this!!

Your sisters Defibrillator should not cause those types of symptoms.  It sounds like medication or sleep apnea.  My heart meds wipe me out, I want to sleep all the time.
