Tread Mill Test finds VT

I am 41 yr male with mildly hypertensive taking Metoprolol XL 25mg in the morning and 25mg losartan in the evening. I underwent a treadmill test. during second stage my BP rost to 170/100 from 140/90 and My HR went to 117. I had a flip in my heart and the doc stopped tread mill and said I have VT and refer me to a cardiologist. Did Angio and Echo all being normal. Had an event monitor for one week: The summary  of Event monitor is HR varies from 40 to 140 with a sinus pause of 1.37 secs. No VT,VF with one or two pvcs.  The events trigred by me or the machine finds  possible VT or SVT, sinus tachy, or sinus brady. The doc said bradycardia is some concern and asked me to meet an electro physiologist. I am very worried and anxious thinking about it not able to concentrate on my work. I am extremely stressed over the last 3 years and a very anxious person. Thats why metoprolol was prescribed. Please help me to relieve me out of anxiety. Now I am a more worried person thinking why I had went for the Tread mill test... Thanks in advance for the passifying replies...

This is just an opinion from someone who has used Metoprolol for nearly 8 years with doseages up to 200mg/day:  There are much better drugs to treat anxiety than Metoprolol.  I've been married 42 years to my wife who at one point couldn't spet out of our house due to anxiety.  Paxil, a little Xanax, and lots of psyco-therapy are what cured her.  In her opinion, Paxil (aka. Paroxetine) was a miracle drug.  I used and still use today Metoprolol as a cardiac rhythm stabilizer, for mild hypertension, and for heart attack survivability although there is now some doubt on that claim.  For the earlier two though it works excellent with little to no side effects.  But if you're anxious, if I were you, I'd want to try some of the SSRI drugs like Paxil or an SNRI like Venlafaxine (Effexor) both which worked great for my wife.  Just a cautionary note on Effexor.  My wife switched from Paxil when it was discovered that it severely reduced the effectiveness Tamoxifen she was taking following breast cancer.  She switched to Effexor which did not interact, but now that she's on it, getting off of it to go back to Paxil is very difficult.  While she's not "hooked" on it, stopping Effexor can cause some wild effects.  There is lots of web reading on this, so just be careful.  Both of these types of drugs I feel are far better than what you experience using Metoprolol for anxiety.
