Thanks for the update...Oh boy, I know exactly what you're talking about! I have had the displeasure to wear this monitor more times than I'd like to say...It looked like I had a road map left permanently tattooed to my chest, LOL
If you are noticing heightened sensitivelty to these electrodes, you may try to call the monitoring company and inquire about "skin sensitive" electrodes. They are made of paper and the adhesive used is irritating (these are the only ones I can now wear) I'll be joining the monitoring party, as I will be required to wear it starting today, as I initiate my new antiarrhythmic med. :p
Good luck with your event monitor. Are they looking to catch more PVC's, or the long pause between, or what?
I'm wondering if you have the same monitor as I do - is yours a King of Hearts Express? Do you have only two leads attached to your chest? That's the one I have.
As you probably already know, you'll want to figure out a way to wear sweaters or sweat shirts to work and around town, otherwise the wires will be hanging out. I don't care so much about other people seeing them, I just don't want my kids worrying.
To Brooke_38 - Good luck with your monitor as well. Hope the new meds coax that heart into rhythmic bliss.
The Monitor I am on is from a company called CardioNet...it has 3 leads. Pretty high speed stuff...gots a monitor with the leads on it..which in turn sends a cel message to this other device I have with me...which in turn sends it to Cardionet which sends it to my doctor...man I have gone crosseyed...hehe.
Not sure what exactly they are looking for... Probally PVC's and that Pause...Crosses fingers :P
Yes they do.... at work today I had and strange feeling in my chest and was a bit bothered by it..Co-Workers was telling me I was distant and not right. So Bam I hit the event monitor and recored it. Right after I went to CVS and took my blood pressure (Because I was paranoid) and my 2 readings were 132/82 81BPM...... Sit there for a few minutes then pumped a 127/77 77BPM...not to shabby...then I felt so much better. I bet it was a Anxity thing as i am on this new monitor..... But back to the subject at hand.....
Reguardless if I hit the monitor Event or not They would recieve that info. Check out the Cardionet website and look at some of the monitors they have out there..... Can you say... Star-Trek. :P
