Very Concerned PLEASE HELP!

Hi I am a 31 yr old mother of 2 school aged children, I have chronic pain from a severe MVA in 1998 in which I spent  3 1/2 mos in ICU and 1 mos on Rehab Floor. All residuals from MVA are closely monitored and treated, the most significant residual is chronic pain for which I am on pain meds round the clock with good relief. Over the years I have had sparatic skipped beat, palpitations during my pregnancy and in times of high stress. Recently within the last 6-8mos I have been experiencing all kinds of Heart variances that are very concerning to me at this time. I've had several Echos, Stress Test, EKGs, but most reveling has been the 4 wk Cardiac Monitor which reveled the following:

Many Sinus Tachycardia,  Many PVC's, a few Sinus Bradycardia with PVC, Normal Sinus Rhythm with PAC and PVC, Normal Sinus Rhythm with Ventricular Tachycardia 4 beats Rate 180, Sinus Arrhythmia, Sinus Rhythm with Atrial Run and Sinus Rhythm with 1st Degree AVB and PVC.

All of these Heart variances were caught repeatedly on the 4wk Cardiac Monitor. The Cardiologists words are "Pretty Significant and Impressive Sinus Tachycardia" in addition to telling me in his next beat "Don't worry this is a benign condition". I am very worried as there are several instances of Arrhythmia as noted above. The Cardiologist has prescribed Metproplol 50 mg and after consulting my Primary Care we decided I will take 1/2, 1x a day so 25 mg a day. I do notice a small change since beginning this medicine but believe you, me I feel almost every one of these Heart Arrhythmia in different ways, either feeling pressure in my throat, a tightness and sensation of squeezing of the air out of my chest, awareness of pauses, fast rate pounding, twinges of pain, and just the anticipation of another one coming makes the situation worse. The absolute worst time is at night as I am relaxing to get ready to go to to sleep! It is repeated and constant every night and during the day they a frequent and distracting.

I am very concerned and I am worried that it may not be a "benign" condition as the Dr's say. I am worried that I am not going to wake up one morning or one of these Arrythmias is going to make me pass out and I won't be able to call 911 or get help in time. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED...I AM WONDERING IF I SHOULD GET A SECOND OPINION FROM ANOTHER CARDIOLOGIST ON WHAT MAY BE GOING ON OR A POSSIBLE UNDERLYING CAUSE.

I can relate to everything you have said. I had the cardiologist tell me that I was fine and he put me on metoporol tart and it made me feel horrible.  I still have the palps and skipped beats constantly and at noght it gets worse.  It has got to the point I cant sleep. I feel drained all the time and depressed and I feel that is because of I am tired of feeling this way.  I am a mother of 3 and feel that they are suffering because of this. I have had several opinions and I still dont feel satifaction.  I am goning to try nutritional supplements and see if that helps. I hope you feel better and God Bless!
