Very high pulse

I am a 13 year old female, and weigh 95 lbs. I am sick with flu-like symptoms. (coughing, very sore throat, slight fever), and earlier today I didn't feel so good. I felt kind of out of it even though I was just sitting, and I was wobbling on my feet when I stood up. I have vasovagal, and I sat down. After I felt a little bit better, I took my pulse and blood pressure with a digital blood pressure monitor, and it was 124/87 with a pulse of 133! I felt better after about 10 minutes (I did tell my mom)

Now, a few hours later, my pressure was 132/103 with a pulse of 108!

Can someone please tell me if this is dangerous, or what might be causing this change in heart rate? I don't know if my sickness has anything to do with it.

Do you know what your fever is ? I know for me, an elevated temp can cause my HR to increase.If I were you, and your symptoms continue, I would get my mom to make an appt with the doctor. It is never a bad idea to have something checked out just to make sure. I hope you feel better soon and let us know!!! We care!!!! :)

My temperature is only 100.4 F. I went to the doctor, since my throat hurts very bad, and he checked for mono and strep throat, but I was negative for both. He didn't check my blood pressure though...

My mom said she'll check it again later, and we'll decide what to do from there.

Sounds like you and your mom are doing everything that you can do!!! I hope you feel better soon! There are bugs going around here and I hope that I don't catch any of them!! I'm sure you will be fine and take care..you sound like a sweetie!!

Fevers cause a high pulse rate.  Whenever I have a fever (and it doesn't even have to be high), I typically go over 120 bpm.
