Oh...Australia uses a different lab system. I was pretty worried, but see that your 3 and 4 is like when I go down to 30s and 40s. I am not even diabetic! lol Yes, drugs can throw you off like mad. I seem to do better when I up my protein intake and lower my carbs, using only complex. That works all around. I hope you feel better soon. I hate low blood sugars. My body feels awful.
Hi, here in Australia 3 and 4 is pretty low when the norm is between 4 and 6 for normal reading, I was usually in the 9,10.11.12. when I was on meds, but suddenly one day it plummetted to the lows, I have been on a lot of antibiotics for 3 months trying to heal Chronic Intertistial Cystitis, but this did not work, I was on a drug called Elmiron and Macrodantin, also Augmentin Forte, and other meds, so hopefully this upset the apple cart.
I am very miserable and not feeling the best though.
Marie
I wish I could help more with this because I actually know quite a bit about endocrine and, especially, hypoglycemia. I have never heard of blood sugar drops to that level. I am wishing you meant 40s and 30s (which I've had), but if you mean 4 or 3, that would pretty much guarantee insulin shock. I'm quite confused, but interested to find what they think. Of course you wouldn't take your meds with this happening, but you should be scheduled for tests of some kind....not? Let us know.
Hi Betty, in the ER they told me that I had a bladder infection and administered heaps of antibiotics via intravenus, and they told me to take tablets as well and then discharged me, theyalso said to hold of taking the Diabetes medication, which i am doing, my doctors says the same thing, but this is not encouraging for me, because I dont know what the cause is
Thanks
Hi,
I am so sorry you are feeling badly. I can't answer your diabetes question because I don't have personal experience with this. I'm sure you'll get to the bottom of what is causing your blood sugar to drop. In the meantime, try not to get yourself so worked up. Unfortunately, the more worked up we get, the more the heart likes to react. I know that's easier said than done but the good thing is you will be going to a physician who will find out what is going on .
What did they tell you when you were in the ER?
Betty
