Vitamins??

I've been suffering from palpitations for about 7 months now.  I've had blood work and a ton of test that says everything is fine.  I've noticed a pattern in the palpitations.. it seems I have them ALOT after eating.  I was wondering if anyone else has this problem? Could I possibly have some kind of vitamin or mineral deficiency since I have them after eating. I'm thinking of starting  a multivitamin to see if that gives me any sort of relief. Does bloodwork check your magnesium or would that be a different kind of test?

I've had palpitations for over 2 years PACs PVCs I eat well balanced diet most of the time and stay active I take men's one a day, 1000 mg omega 3 fish oil I also experience more palpitations and discomfort after eating, a healthy diet making sure I get enough potassium helps but for me I got my best benefits from running although even when I was working out 15 hours a week I was not getting the results I've gotten since I've been taking metoprolol and working out not even near as much I tried to do everything to avoid relying on a pill but it was MY best bet and gives me peace of mind what I would recommend for you is to stay active and do cardio at least I weight train also I wish you all the best and take it easy but take it

Yes, the majority of people that suffer with palpitations have noticed a connection with stomach issues.  Many sufferers have noted that antacids, such as pepto bismol, are effective in treating both problems- everyone is different though.

With regards to minerals, I would suggest that a healthy and natural diet with good sources of potassium and magnesium often help decrease palpitations- my blood tests always come back normal as well, but I know from trial and error that potassium specifically helps decrease my episodes.  I try to eat a decent amount of fruit, drink V8 juice etc...

At the end of the day though, palpitations are often difficult to decrease- staying away from the typical triggers such as caffeine, stress, alcohol is a good idea.

Always consult your doctor before starting a supplement program.  You can get most things naturally anyways if you watch the nutrient content of your food.
