Wean Off Atenolol

i have semi frequent pvcs..and im just sick of taking meds and would like to see if i can cope without being on atenolol..im 23..im on 50mg once in the morning and once at night for almost 2 years..my dr says i can just stop it since i dont have high blood pressure or any heart disease..but i would like to wean off of it..can anyone post a weaning schedule that i can go off of with the 50mg pills

I will offer, having no specific experience with your mediation, that if you doctor says you can stop, "cold turkey" assumed, there seems to be no reason to use a "weaning schedule", but, if you are more comfortable do so I suggest the following.  Count how many pills you have left and lay out a plan that uses about half of the remaining pills at once a day and the other half of the remaining at 1/2 a pill a day until gone...assuming they break in half without too much trouble.  That's just a program I'd do myself, not medical advice.

although i'm not a dr, i think it would be a bad idea to stop without weaning. the heart needs time to adjust off the meds, and if you just stopped, you would probably experience major palpitations. i am on atenolol, but a lower dose (50mg morning, 25mg night), and my doctor told me never to stop taking it unless we decide i need to be weaned off.

I take one 100 mg Atenolol a day. I recently had Lapband surgery and have lost weight. With my doctors supervision I will be weaning off Atenolol, but my queston is  ...what are PVC's?
