I have a 9 month old daughter and I'm 5 months along with a boy.
My mother has a heart condition where one of her lil heart thingies don't fill up all the way before it starts pumping the blood back out every so often.
It's not life threatening she said, but she said there's not cure for it and it ***** dealing with it.
I dunno if my problem has to do with the stress on my body from having a back to back pregnancy, from a diahrea episode back in jan/feb of this year and I drank ALOT of gatorade, if it has to do with anxiety, or if I might have what my mother has.
It feels weird. It doesn't happen too too often. Sometimes it won't happen one day, sometimes it'll happen a couple times another, sometimes it'll happen several times another.
It feels like if you think about something wicked exciting like an upcoming trip to somewhere AWESOME, and your heart jumps.
It feels like that.
I'm scared I might have what my mother has.
I'm gunna bring it up with my regularRegular insulin doctor because I finally got on pregnancy medicaid not too long ago and I don't think my ob/gyn will be able to help me in that department.
Can anyone give me some reassurance to calm my nerves any?
PVC! That's what she has.
I could never remember what her condition what called, that's what it is.
I'm seeing my ob/gyn thursday, I'm gunna bring up some of my issues with her, and a regular doc next month.
I'm thinking it may just be anxiety.
I really hope I didn't take what my mom has. She's adopted and I don't see my biological father or his family, so I only can count on what happens to my mom to know what could happen to me.
You are right about the anxiety being a source of heart rhythm problems. So, try to think positive and look forward to and engage in something rewarding every day to help keep yourself from thinking too much about your heart rhythm. Again, PVCs may be uncomfortable, some are not, but they are usually not a threat to life.
Good luck, maybe your doctor can prescribe something to calm your rhythm problems.
It would be good to know what you mother suffers from, as you may have inherited the same condition. It sound to me like she suffers from a premature heart beat, suppose a ventricle chamber beat, called PVC = Premature Ventricle Contraction. This is normally benign and nothing to worry about.
It would be a good idea to have a doctor give a listen and better do an electrocardiogram to get some measurement on what is going on.
Again, most heart rhythm problems are not life threatening, and so please take that into you mind and use it not to get all wound up with worry.
Wishing your newborn and upcoming addition and you the best of health.
