What is the best pacemaker defiulator device

I have a pacemaker  since June /06 for a total heart block. It took 3 surgeries before it worked and I spent 11 days in ICU. I am pacemaker dependent in the lower chamber now and have 2 leads.
In Jan /10 I had a seizure - all the Dr.s thought it was a Grand Mal seizure and they put me on Dilantin for it. I always thought it was related to my pacemaker because before I passed out it felt the same as what I experienced in 06.
In Aug they diagnoised me with Dilated Cardio Myopothy with an ejection fracture of 20% . They all freaked out but  I have no symptoms  at all and can exercise every day on my treadmill for 30 min or more. Now finally after my last tests my Cardiologist believes that this was a heart relaled incident. Now I am waiting to hear if the neuroligst will accept this opinion  from another specialist.  
I  now need a pacemaker defibrulator and need to find out which device is considered the best. I have a St Jude pacemaker currently but know that Medtronic, Boston Scientific and Biotronic all have devices. How do I educate myself so I can ask the right questions.And I am from Canada so not everything is available here.
