What's the connection?

I have been diagnosed with benign PVC's and they are HORRIBLE when i have a bowel movement or have trapped gas.

Does anyone know the connection? I know for a fact it is connected in some way.. I suffer from chronic constipation and i get gassy frequently and when i "bare down" to have a bowel movement my PVC's go CRAZY.. I don't understand what is causing it? I've read about vasovagal nerve sensitivity but i thought with that then the "bare down" part would help it, not create it?

Any ideas? Thanks in advance..

Hi there. I also experience the same as you. I have IBS and have noticed a 100% link between bloating and trapped gas and the pvcs

I thought the same thing, that i have almost a "reverse" vasovagel type of response. I've always been a weirdo tho, I'm the patient who is the exception to the medical rules, I leave doctors scratching their heads saying "hmm" i dunno... with a number of issues. haha..

I've read other posts that people seem to have arrhythmias tied to eating, drinking, anything related to the digestive track. Perhaps there's a connection some place.

Funny that you have ectopics when bearing down. I use the valsalva maneuver (hold a breath and bear down) to stop my tachy episodes. Kind of the reverse of what you're experiencing.

I read through some older posts and found the connection.. Maybe it is the vasovagel nerve because i also get tachycardia and lightheaded after eating.. YAY me... just a "benign" irritating symptom.. I'm going to experiment with smaller meals and gas x

I'm going with the vasovagel theory though..
