Why does my resting heart rate vary

Why does my resting heart rate vary

Usually during the day my heart rate while at rest is 62-70 and the later in the evening it gets and at night it ranges from 53-59. Is this normal? I feel fine but have become obsessed with taking my heart rate every couple of minutes.

Those HR numbers sound very normal and very good to me.  The only possible problem is the low range if accompanied by low blood pressure, it could make one sensitive to sudden activity dizziness...e.g., "jumping" up to answer the door and feeling faint.  The problem in this case it takes a few seconds for the heart to get the blood moving faster to support activity.  Even this isn't a serious problem, just get up slower.

I hope I'm not giving you something new to obsess over, blood pressure.  You have a different result than most, if indeed you are obsessing, and I'm not saying your are, most get a too high heart rate when they get over occupied with worry about their heart rate.

that sounds normal. heart rate varies through the day as does blood pressure. they vary in response to stress, caffiene, excercise, housework, kids driving you mad, any number of things. you only need to worry if u start feeling dizzy and blacking out, or else getting headaches.
