Worried about chest pain

by rlsnkeait, Jun 22, 2008 07:02PM
I am a 24 year old female, with no previous history.  I woke up two days ago with a dull, achy, intermittent pain in my left chest (where my left ventricle is).  The pain was made worse by bending over.  The pain went on throughout the day.  Today when I woke up, the pain was gone, but now when I walk I get a strong painful feeling like I have heart burn in my left chest, and the middle of my chest.  My heart rate has been normal.  I am concerned, but currently have no health insurance, so I really have nowhere to go.  I have been packing for the last couple days, and am fairly stressed out.  Any ideas?

As you probably know, stress can be a factor with chest pain/discomfort.  However, it's not a good idea to self-diagnose, especially when you're experiencing any kind of chest pain/discomfort. If it were me, I'd probably try an OTC pain reliever to see if the pain goes away.  If it didn't go away, I'd make an appointment with a doctor.
