Oh, those good-Ole abnormal EKG's, they can sure get us into trouble. I had one, and the doc admitted me to the hospital. He just went by what the machine said. I was scared out of my mind. You see, I went to the ER for bad back spasms, well, they told me to go home as I was OK, but, silly me, I asked for an EKG, I was nervous as heck. Anyway, it said that I had an ST abnormality, related to Digitalis, I do not even take the stuff. The hospital had no one in it, so they admitted me for observation. Anyway, they did more blood work, the troponin levels, you name it, another EKG, and all was great, it was so great, they sent me home later that day saying I was a very low risk. Phew! LOL, talk about fear, I have never been that afraid. I showed the EKG to another doc and he said it was great and he said they probably had a low census and wanted something to do, that would not surprise me.
So, that is my EKG story, and I know for a fact they can be wrong, I have had several since, and they have all been just peachy. Darn things, LOL.
i had a ekg that said it was not normal but my cardio dr said it was fine so i trust her and go with what she says.
Hi,
The report you are talking about. Was it listed at the top of the EKG itself, or was that a doctor's diagnosis? All EKG machines are equipped with internal diagnostics. However, they are not always accurate and an accurate diagnosis should be made by a doctor. As far as baseline wander, that just means that the machine picked up some sort of movement by you, could have been breathing or the slightest movement that caused that, so that is nothing to be concerned about...
Hope this helps you
:)
