abnormal heart ?

Hi i am a  20 year-old male and my problem seems very complicated to my htough i have read "similar" posts... i am confused about PVC... I do not know if i am experiencing PVC or is it other abnormality. sometimes i just relax or even when i am moving i feel a strange and sudden "abnormal" heart beat and then my heart beats normally. i may have this once twice or thrice a day... i do not have it frequently now.  two weeks ago i felt the same thing while taking a deep breath.i feel like hte heart is pressed against the chest wall or so.  and once i experience a brief but severe pain while taking such breath... the pain did not last for more than two seconds and it realy scared me.... plz help me find out what this is. i am going to the doctor tomorrow.

EKG was normal.. thank you. however i think my bp was high because of the stress and anxiety. my bp is usually 12 or 13. it was 15 and 16 today. they told me that it may be due to stress, anxiety, delay etc... my mom also had a high bp wen she went to remove a tooth .for her it is usually 10 or 9.. there it was 14!  thank you very much for replying.

I understand.  It sounds like you describe premature beats, like from the ventricle, but possibly from the atrium.  The easiest way to figure out what they are is do a holter monitor -- worn for 24 hours.  You document in a log what time you had the symptom and they look for a heart rhythm to correlate with the symptoms.  If you have a normal ekg and no other cardiovascular symtoms and normal history and physical, no other tests are necessary for PVCs/PACs.

I think just about everyone has had the moment of brief, fleeting chest pain when they take a deep breath.  Then you take another wondering if it is still there and it is not.  I cannot tell you what causes, but I don't worry about it.  I have had the same thing many times.

I think you will feel much better after you talk to your doctor.

I hope this helps and thanks for posting.
