acupuncture & heart issues

by bri13615, Apr 11, 2008 10:34AM
Has anyone here tried acupuncture? There's a clinic I go to that offerers free treatment to vets so I thought I would try it.I was having heart palpitations and pounding heart at night. I don't think it is a cure but it does help me relax and I've noticed my blood pressure comes down after a treatment. There are some points on the wrist that are for heart and sure enough those points are sensitive. The chinese doctors don't seem to have an ans. but do agree that I'm kinda stressed and worry a lot. Maybe if I can get my mind & body to relax through acupuncture the heart problem will get better.

Yes,absolutely. As heart palpitation is mainly mental disorder and undernourishment of the heart: Timidity, fright and rage may lead to impairment of the liver and kidneys, deficiency of yin and hyperactivity of fire. As a result, the heart-qi and gallbladder-qi are weakened, the mind becomes uncontrollable and palpitation ensues. A weak constitution resulting from prolonged illness, impairment of the heart and spleen by anxiety and overstrain and consumption of yin-blood after blood loss may cause an under-nourished status of the heart, which leads to palpitations.
So keep doing it,you will get better.good luck!
