From what I have read aspertame (artificial sweetener) has been studied for health/safety effects worldwide and has been found safe.  That said, if you are a heavy user, say drinking several "servings" a day, you may want to experiment by cutting back and seeing if you experience any reduction in arrhythmia.

I drink at least a liter (two or three glasses) of artificially diet soda a day... and I suffer from AFib.  The soda I drink is also caffeine free.

I went off all aspartame products when my PVCs worsened in Jan of this year.

I also stopped drinking coffee and diet soda, I drink nothing but water and an occasional beer.

This did not help my PVCs.

I was just wondering because I never eat or drink anything with aspertame in it. But you cannot buy gum without it even if its not sugar free. I read all labels and dont use it or msg in fear of the arrythmia thing. I wanted some gum and of course guess what was in it..... So I was just wondering if anyone had problems with is all. I only drink water or sprite mainly sprite no coffee either.
