atrial fib after ablation

I had a cardiac ablation about 7 weeks ago for SVT atrial tachycardia....although the doctors say it was successful, I ow have developed atrial fibrillation. I also constantly have PVC..they say not to worry but I feel like my heart is going to stop all day long....anyone else have strange or new symptoms following a cardiac ablation?

Thanks for your reply...I agree it just seems to be something you have to learn to live with....however easier said than done. As I told my cardiologist- I guess I just have a heart that was born to be wild. Today is 2 months since the ablation and the PVC continue. They are hard to ignore most days- hearing about others with the same issue is reassuring. The doctor wont say much about this new situation of Atrial fib- perhaps part of the healing process, perhaps something new...I dont do well with uncertainly- I am an RN and like facts! Thanks for your support!

Did the doctors tell you that the ablation had anything to do with your developing atrial fibrillation?  That really sucks.

I had my ablation in early January for SVT.  Since then, I have had a lot of PVC's and trigeminy, some days worse than others.  The healing process can take several weeks and I was told to expect some weird rhythms during this period.  However, I think, by now, my heart should be healed.  I'm pretty well resigned to the fact that the PVC's have decided to stick around.  Thankfully the symptoms of SVT are no longer there.
