As far as I know (benadryl) diphenhydramine is contraindicated in persons with a prolonged qt interval or with long qt syndrome , but in general is a safe medication. I've a similar problem as you speak about my uvula sometime gets swollen . I take piriton(chlorphenamine (sp) )somtimes its spelled slightly differently generic and it helps alot. ask your doctor or local pharmacist , i think both are OTC medicines, at least they are where live. hope you feel better soon.
