I haven't had my follow up since the holter monitor and being put on Bystolic to control my heart rate.  I am hoping to find out which type V-tach or SV tach I have.  I am still exercising but my intensity has dropped ALOT.  I try and not let my heart rate get above 135 when I exercise untill I get the all clear from the doc.  Good luck to you

Thanks for the suggestion. Actually my docs have re-assured me, but the worry still remains! However, your anxiety explanation seems the most probable, and the docs have not come up with a better one. Thanks again and all best wishes,
Malan

Hi,
Thanks for the suggestion. My doc has re-assured me and told me not to worry. Is yours V-tach or SV-tach and what is the cause? You still have the courage to exercise despite it being exercise-induced! With all best wishes,
Malan

Hi, I don't really have an answer for you except that my doctor haas placed me on bystolic for my tachycardia.  My resting is not scary high but it is elevated and my exercise induced is extremely high and once it gets over 175 it takes about 90 minutes to drop to 100.  Anyway I guess my point is definately ask your doctor what they think, and like Susie said I think it depends where the tachycardia is occuring.  Anyway good luck to you.

Well, I would say it all depends on the type of tachycardia to begin with. But, on the whole, I would say probably the type that occur during rest. However, that is not always the case either, a very high strung person with high anxiety can have them happen "out of the blue" that is because our bodies are in a constant state of "flight or fight" and our adrenal glands are "shooting" off more than those that are at peace.

Like I said, there can be many reasons for the at rest one, the exerice induced type are sort of self explanatory, as we exercise, our heart rate naturally goes up, it is the recovery time that is important in this case. There is so much involved in both. I am not an expert, and if the question were bothering me, I would ask my doctor the next time I saw her. They, no doubt, will come up with a better explanation.

Hope this helps some.
God bless
Susie
