beta blockers

I have currently been on a beta blocker for 3 years.  nadolol, 10 mg qd.  I had been dx with pvc's my doc just laughed and said they were just a nuisance.  anyway i feel that i am possibly having long term side effects from them.  i understand that they inhibit the beta 1 myocardial, pulmonary and uterine.  is it possible to go into chf from long term use?

I was on Nadolol since 1991 (17 years) and never had a problem.  For years I took 20 mg. daily and the last couple of years I was on 10 mgs daily.  This is a very small dose so I wouldn't worry about any major side effects. What symptoms do you feel you are having?

Hi,

I was on a beta blocker for several years, Inderal for a while and Corgard. They almost killed me. I had horrible side effects. Like shortness of breath all the time swollen legs and feet my hands and feet turned purple and i was so pale. My blood pressure was so low like 90/50 and had a pulse in the 30's and 40's it was horrible. I don't take anything now except Ativan.

Some people just can't tollerate bb's. And some people do fine on them.

first of all i am 37 years old.  i believe i have pvc's due to stress.  lately, my feet are cold, not cyanotic, my ankles swell at times.  but my job (a nurse) demands that i am on my feet all day, sometimes 9 hours withoug sitting.  i have been bradycardic at times hr below 50.  i guess i really need to talk to my doc.  he basically told me that they were benign.  i still feel the palpitations at times and i don't want him to increase my dose.  if they are harmless i think i would rather live with them.  i also take xanax at night for anxiety.  anyway i feel so helpless.  thanks for the posts
