in relation to a standart treadmill use in gyms , phase 1 of the standart treadmill stress test starts at a 10% grade or incline what is the numerical setting on a standart treadmill 1-15

I don't believe there are any "one standard fits all".  I have had several stress tests, most of them nuclear stress tests and all were done while I was being monitored.  The goal was getting my HR up to some target zone, and the speed was always walking, nothing as high as 4 mph, and the grade was gradually increased until the desired goal was reached, given I didn't have problems (mental or otherwise, and I didn't).
