cardizem cd/ generic med. for tachycardia

I have been taking the generic cardizem for my tachycardia for 3 weeks and my heart rate is just as fast as when I started this medication. I now have chest pains too. Does anyone know how long it takes for this stuff to work and whether it works at all? What about anti-depressents taken along with cardizem? Now doctor wants me to start an anti-depressent. How can these work for tachycardia?

I take diltiazem, which is generic for cardizem, when I have AFib, which is a fast, irregular heart rate, and.......it works in about an hour........I really think the med is not working for you.........if you are having chest pains you should contact your doc......
