The data for statin medications like atorvastatin (storvas ez) to reduce or reverse coronary disease is not good.  It does decrease the progression of coronary disease and does decrease the risk of cardiovascular events.  If you have coronary disease and have no contra indications (reason that you can't take them), you should be a statin.

Reducing blockages that are already present is difficult to do.  A realistic goal is to decrease the progression of coronary disease.  This is done best by:

1. controlling modifiable risk factors (diabetes, cholesterol, hypertension, weight, no smoking -- absolutely no smoking)
2. diet high in fiber, low in sugar and saturated fats -- no trans fats.
3. Diets like the Mediterranean-style diet

4. Moderate exercise with the consent of your physician

I hope this helps.
