congenital Heart Defect

IN NOV LAST YEAR I HAD AFIB, WHICH LED TO AN ECHO SCAN, WHICH THEN LED TO AN MRI, I THEN WENT TO SEE MY CARDIOLOGIST WHO AFTER 15 MINS INFORMED ME I HAD A HOLE IN THE SEPTUM AND 1 SIDE OF TEH HEART WAS DILATED I WAS A BIT SHOCKED AT THE TIME SO I DID'NT ASKE TOO MANY QUESTIONS
HE INFORMED ME I NEEDED A TEE, OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS I HAVE FELT VERY TIRED AND A LITTLE SHORT OF BREATH I THOUGHT IT WAS MY AGE, MY AGE IS 55 BY THE WAY, I THEN HAD BLOOD TESTS FOR MY KIDNEYS BECAUSE I HAVE HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE WHICH REVEALED MY U+E LEVELS WERE HIGH THE THEY DID ANOTHER BLOOD TEST FOR PARATHYROIDWHICH WAS ALSO HIGH, ON A SECOND BLOOD TEST THE HORMONE DROPPED BUT IS STILL HIGHER THAN IT OUUGHT TO BE, THEN LAST WEEK I HAD A SWOLLEN KNEE, HAD AN XRAY WHICH REVEALED OUSTEOARTHRITIS BUT KNOT JUST MY KNEE IS ACHING AT THE MOMENT BOTH MY LEGS ARE IN FACT IF I SIT DOWN I GET TERRIBLE PAIN WHEN I TRY TO STAND UP. FEELING VERY OLD AT THE MOMENT, ANYWAY WHAT I WANT TO KNOW ARE MY CONDITIONS ALL INTERCONNECTED? PLEASE ADVISE

I have just read your post.  I too have posted today.  I have had an episode of Atrial Fibrillation too just 4 weeks ago and am having trouble coming to terms with it.  I havent had anything else happen though.  

My word what a time you have been through.  Have they told you when they are going to schedule the surgery for you or are you on a waiting list?  Surely this should be sorted out ASAP.  

Personally I dont think that the heart and the other problems are going hand in hand but the swollen knees thing along with the high blood pressure I would have thought might be connected.  You are not old.  55 is nothing.  I am 48, perimenopausal, and even if I was 55 I would still be trying to feel young.  Try to keep yourself stable whilst the doctors figure out what needs to be done first (which I assume will be the heart).  You are amongst friends now so keep posting until you feel better.
