coronary arteries misplaced?

I was given the results of my cardiac cath last week and was told that my coronary arteries are not lying on the outside of my heart, but are inside the muscle. The more I have thought about it, I really do not understand and do not think I will receive a better answer from the cardiologist. My question is what problems and treatments exist for this situation.  More information is in my bio.

I hope someone can be of assistance.
Thanking you in advance,
Nancy

Your condition is very unusual, but the fact you are alive proves it still works.  This being the case, a guess on my part, you may not get any helpful input here.  You may get better results on the heart disease community, "click" Forums at the top of the page to get there.

You didn't say why you had a cardiac catheter exam, must be you had some symptoms.  If you have symptoms, you should expect your doctor to translate your condition at least to the relationship to your symptoms and what if anything can be done to manage or eliminate the symptoms.

I have never heard of a catheter exam as a routine preventive measure, that's why I ask.  I have had that procedure twice, once to check on blockage because of poor results in a nuclear stress test, and once as an exploratory pre-surgery work up.
