I haven't heard of Cardizem causing depression. I have been taking it now for about 10 years...

Having a Dr, that you are supposed to trust, not give you the time of day and openly discredit an ER physicians interpretation of your EKG, will certainly heighten your level of anxiety. He then gives you a new medication without so much as asking you if you had any questions and vanishes from the room.

Ativan works by taking the edge of your anxious feelings. It typically won't increase your heart rate. Tomorrow will be a new day...Tomorrow you can work on finding a new Dr.

I think that you mentioned being sleep deprived as well...This too will only make things worse. So take your Ativan, get some sleep.

Having had, hopefully ,a rested night will give your body the energy it needs to take care of important business tomorrow.

Please keep us updated with your search for your new Dr:)
