double PVC

by meredith_jrsj, Nov 07, 2007 04:22PM
Thanks for the replies yesterday... I have another one.  First let me say... I don't know what I have.  I have an appt. next week but I have been reading a lot about PVCs.  I feel like that's what I probably have.  One time when I was taking my pulse I noticed the pause and then the next beat or so another pause then normal beats for awhile.  I read that when you have double or triple PVCs thats when they worry about ventrical tach.  Is that right? I don't feel like I have a racing pulse.  Just the pause.

If you had pause, beat, pause, beat that sounds more like begeminy ie every second beat a PVC. Even if you did have two PVCs in a row it's nothing to be concerned about.
When 625 people with healthy hearts wore a holter monitor for 24 hours 8.8% of them had PVC couplets that day. So probably more than that have them from time to time but just didn't have them the day of that study.
