dr finally listened!!

dr finally listened!!

So my EP finally listened to me!

He doesn't want to do an ablation since it has been awhile (almost 5 months) since I have fainted or had problems with my NSVT... which is understandable. Although he can't guarantee that I will not faint and the risks of ablation vs. the risks of injury from fainting (the NSVT will not kill me) are virtually the same, but he doesn't want to do the ablation and wants to do the wait an see. I can see his side of this but I do not like it! :)

My loop recorder is still not working too great, although he is convinced that it will work okay for my NSVT, should I faint again.

He also said that my fainting and NSVT may have been a self-limited thing and that it is possible that it is gone. He said I may have had a heart infection when I was having all of the problems fainting. Which could be possible because right when I stopped fainting I was dx with a kidney infection and was on multiple infections to treat that so that could have treated the heart infection, which is why I haven't fainted in awhile.

Anyways... it tool awhile but I finally got him to acutally listen to me and this is out plan now... at the end of May I will be going in for an EP study w/ no sedation this time so he has a better chance of provoking the arrhythmia and then if he can provoke it he will ablate, if not we will assume it was a self limited thing, either way my loop recorder is coming out. I'm happy with this.

I hate that he can't give me a guarantee that I will not faint again either way, but I guarantees don't really come with this kind of stuff I guess. :S

One thing I def need to do though is make sure he understands I will do the EP study and ablation w/o sedation but when they take out my loop recorder I better be sedated!!

I know before this I will need to be off my beta-blocker for awhile, my inappropriate sinus tach though is soooo sensitive that I am worried about that (last time I ended up in the hospital, in fact whenever I don't take my bb I end up in the hospital!) Does anyone know a short acting medication that quickly clears out that I could take that wouldn't effect the EP study but slow down my heart rate??
