drugs

I have high blood pressure a nd have been on atenolol for some years.I have had a stent implanted 2 years ago I am worried about some of the side affects of this drug.I have been on this drug for several years and would like to come off this drug. Is there another drug whiuch would be suitable alterative.

There are quite an array of medications available for blood pressure control.  Talk over your concerns with your doctor and ask if you might be able to try another type of medication.  On the flip side, I have not heard of any long term effects from the use of beta blockers.  Let us know what the doc says.  Take care.
