An arrhythmia is a problem with the way the heart's electrical signal is traveling around the heart causing the heart to beat in ways that are other than a normal steady beat. It is not a disease but rather a possible symptom of a disease or it could be congenital meaing you were born with the issue or it could just happen for no reason at all or no particular reason can be found for it's cause. But arrhythmia in general is a broad term for the whole gamut of issues one can have with the electrical signal and beating of one's heart from a slow signal (bradycardia) to a signal that is too fast (svt) to extra beats (ectopics) all of which show up differently on an ecg. If you do some research online you will find a multitude of sites that can show various ecg and ekgs that will display the various types arrhythmia conditions and what they look like. Take care.
