ekg test

i had a abnormal ekg test done on my heart in doctors office and i talked to her about it and she said not to let it stress me out, it was just a little abnormality.to try to discribe what it looked like is to say that i had normal point on the test where they go up and down and then on some of the points it looked a little crooked and did not go up as far as the other points did, i don't know how to discribe it. but i have to have a stress test done, she said it was because of my mother having a heart attach in her 40's but she lived 10 more years and my father died of one in his 60's. and i had to be taken off of my colestrol which was vytorin because it was making the muscles in my arms hurt, but i was on 10/80 so in 3 weeks my colestrol went up 270 points, so she put me on 10/40, so i am hoping it goes back down it was 170. i am antious about going, how does it sound to you, if i had a bad abnormal ekg test is there any difference .

If you have risk factors for heart disease, it is reasonable to consider a stress test because of an abnormal EKG.  I can't really comment on the EKG without seeing it.

If you had muscle aches with vytorin, it might be worth trying a lower dose of symvastatin like 20 mg under your doctors guidance.  Higher doses are associated with more muscle aches and you were on the max doses.  A lower dose will probably help, you will just have to keep an eye on your muscle aches.
