i had the wierdiest thing happen to me last night. i had been asleep no more then thirty minutes or so and i had a feeling like a electrical shock went through my body from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet. my whole body jerked and i jumped up scared to death. has anybody ever had this happen and what the heck is it. i have had my legs jerk and wake me up but never felt like i was being shocked.
Hello~Sometimes when our bodies are starting to relax, they will sometimes "jerk", some cases can be pretty noticeable and can wake you up, however, this usually happens while you are still a little awake. The shock could have been due to all the nerve endings responding; have you been under a lot of stress lately? Usually nerve endings are responsible for the "shock" feeling and tingling.
Yeah, it's happened to me a few times. Not very often, and only once if it does (I mean it doesn't happen again when I go back to sleep). Only a few times in years and years, (I'm 66 now) but it makes you jump out of your skin and scares the hell out of me.Leaves you shaky for a while after till you get back to sleep.. Don't know why it happens, and nobody else does I bet. You're not crazy unless I am too. That's possible though .... hadn't thought about it till now. I'm a retired electrician and have had a few shocks in my time and that's just what if feels like. It's from inside - nothing to do with static build up or anything. Now relax, and go back to sleep. night night. Kev
its good to know that someone else understands what i meant. and you are right only happened the one time, and it scared me silly. couldnt go back to sleep for awhile after that. hopefully that wont happen again, thanks so much for the input and goodnight to yo too.
I think I know what you're talking about. I've had what I described as little shocks running through me even in the daytime but not often. It's can occur when I'm not feeling very well.
Of course my son thought I was nuts when I explained to him, but at least I know it can happen.
