fast heart beat

i am 25 and i am pregnant 4 weeks with my 3rd! i have been feeling my heart beeat hard and fast like its going to beat out of my chest! what does that mean?

It is possible that you are having some pregnancy induced arrhythmias.  They are often benign (harmless) but not always.  You should speak with your ob/gyn and explain your symptoms as clearly as possible.  I would suggest you ask for a holter monitor or an event monitor as well.  These devices are non-invasive and easy to use.  They are about the size of an MP3 player (or cassette player depending on the model) and have leads that attach to your skin.  They measure your heart rate like an EKG over time.  The holter will measure your heart rate for 24 hours, but if your symptoms are not "regular" or daily, then you might have to use an event monitor.  This device is one that is used over 30 days.  Whenever you have an "event" you hit a button that records your heart rate and your doctor can use the data to determine what's what.  

Take heart (pun intended)....this is not an uncommon issue during or after pregnancy, but it is one that you should have checked./
