heart skipping

heart skipping

Well I just a some dinner and about 15 20 minutes latest I layed down on my back and almost instantly felt my heartbeat skip or flutter a few times, I ignored it the first time but it just kept doing it every three or four beats, so annoying so I sat up and took a breath and feel fine. Anyone else have this happen? Is there things anyone does to stop it?

Hi there.  After meals is a common time for your PVCs to act up, especially if you lie down.  The same nerve  innervates the stomach and heart.  When you are digesting or your stomach is full (especially overly full!) it can stimulate the heart and any extra stimulation in people who are prone to PVCs or PACs can cause them.  It means absolutely nothing.  I get this frequently.  I usually don't lie down after meals and, if I must, I will make sure my body isn't in any kind of crunch position.  Try different sides, too.  OR, eat less at each meal and eat more frequently...

I don't normally lie down  after eating but my back was a bit sore so I decided to lay and stretch it out a bit, I wasn't really frightened about it cuz I have had a roller coaster ride with the events my mind and body have gone through since getting out of the army. I feel those irregular beats often just not so frequently in such a short time period
